Scrimshaw Powder Horn - Masonic Symbolism

I was commissioned to create a horn using Masonic Symbolism.
Here is the front view...

The back of the horn.....

I used a beautiful carved violin peg that I had to finish this piece.

Hope you enjoy!

Red Wing Crock Lid, Fawn & Ferns - Woodburning

Here is a project I started a couple of years back, but with our move to our new home, plus work, it got put to the back burner.
I love just taking the ordinary and using it for my own canvas.  Here I have a wooden lid for my Red Wing crock.  Started to wood burn a fawn hiding in ferns.

Hope to finish it up sometime soon. For now, though, it still made the lid a little nicer.

Scrimshaw Powder Horn - Eagle - E Pluribus Unum

The image on this horn is fashioned after the style of eagles I found on many of the powder horns from the 1700 & 1800's.

The image on the back is also a variation of different versions of the 'sun' that I found on several antique horns.

This horn was donated to the
Big Muddy River Rendezvous as an auction piece.

Scrimshaw Powder Horn - Mermaids - 3 Sisters

Well it has been a while since I posted one of my scrimshaw pieces.  Seems like as soon as I make a mermaid one, they are typically spoken for.
Each in the 3 Sisters - 3 Mermaids series is different and unique.
Here is a latest one.  Please excuse the fact that in order for you to see some of this piece, I kept having to rotate the horn and get small segmented photos for you to see.

Scrimshaw Powder Horn - Eagle & Arrows

Here is a sweet little pair of horns.  One powder horn & one primer horn.
This pair stays as a set.
I really wish I could take credit for making the two horns but I cannot.  My brother came across these beautifully created horns for me.  I then did the scrim work on them.
The images were ones I have seen on authentic, antique horns.  Since they are common images, I am sure all of you will recognize them. They are not recreated exactly, but did love the artwork.

The first one is the powder horn....

Here is the little primer horn.....

Below are is a rotation view of the primer horn.

I am still considering dying the horn to look a bit older so the photos may change up a bit.

Scrimshaw Powder Horn - Hunter & 1830 Ouisconsin Map on Back

Here is my hunter scene.

If you check out the back, you will find an Ouisconsin Map.
No I did not spell that incorrectly, that is actually how Wisconsin appeared on the map in 1830.

Scrimshaw Powder Horn - 3 Mermaids - 3 Sisters Dancing

Well I got a few requests to make another mermaid horn so I created the 3 sisters again, but a bit different this time as I never want my horns to be the same.
